Bridge the Gap Icehouse

Bridge the Gap Benefit Concert

6:00 PM - 10:00 PM CDT

The Bridge the Gap Benefit Concert is a livestreamed concert hosted by Icehouse and Vēmos to raise money for local artists and hospitality workers who have been forced out of work due to the COVID-19 shutdowns.

Tickets are priced at the Minneapolis minimum wage of $11, with the idea that one ticket pays for one hour of work for displaced industry workers. Ticket proceeds will be donated to The North Stands, a Sanneh Foundation fund providing financial relief to hospitality industry professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This pandemic is temporary. Together, we can unite to bridge the gap for hospitality workers.

Featuring local musicians, including:

  • PaviElle
  • the4onthefloor
  • Dave King (The Bad Plus, Happy Apple)
  • Dosh
  • DJ Fundo
  • MAKR (Mark McGee)
  • More MN artists to be announced

PaviElle is an interdisciplinary artist, hailing from St. Paul, Minnesota. She is the recipient of an Upper Midwest Emmy Award as well as, a Sage Award for Dance and Choreography. She most recently has won an American Composers Forum Grant for her classical composition, A Requiem for Zula (2019). She is known for her powerhouse vocals and performing with an equally powerful 6 piece band.

Joining together in the name of fun & joy, the 4onthefloor bring their well-oiled, high-octane, rock’n’roll to the world with an immediacy rarely seen on stage in the 21st century. The furious delivery ebbs and flows with sing-a-long anthems and breakdowns, to soaring guitar solos and unbridled full-bore rock. Camaraderie is a common theme, and stompers are finding like-minded rock’n’rollers at every show.

    Dave King

Studied piano and drums as a young person. Played in some amazing grade school, jr high school and high school bands and ensembles…seriously ground breaking in approach and chart selection including a big band version of “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A” by John Mellancamp (formally known as John Cougar and John Cougar-Mellancamp).

Martin Dosh has been making independent music since 2002. A longtime mainstay of the Twin Cities music scene, he works with multiple instruments: mostly keyboards, drums and samplers; incorporating multiple disciplines, or lack thereof, into a tough-to-pin-down sound.

    DJ Fundo

Dj Fundo is the touring DJ for P.O.S, Co-founder of the Hands High dance party, Wu-Tang Wednesdays at Muddywaters, resident DJ for Constantine, Gabes by the park in St. Paul, the Nightchurch weekly dance party, and Co-founder of the legendary DJ crew, Get Cryphy.

    MAKR (Mark McGee)

MAKR (Mark McGee) is a composer and producer originally from Richmond, Virginia. His projects include Marijuana Deathsquads, RONiiA, Father You See Queen, To Kill A Petty Bourgeoisie, Votel and Ringing Bell. He is a frequent collaborator with The Walker Art Center and the PEOPLE (Bon Iver) music collective.

Ticket proceeds will be donated to The North Stands, a Sanneh foundation fund that supports individuals that work in the hospitality industry in Minnesota that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The North Stands movement was started by a group of people who have all been touched by the hospitality industry, and understand the art, hard work, and passion that people in this industry demonstrate for their community every day. This industry, and all of its workers, are a central part of what makes our Minnesota, Minnesota.

If you or someone you know is a hospitality worker who has been impacted by COVID-19, look for The North Stands on Facebook or Instagram, and we’ll be posting a simple page on how to apply for stipends directly from the Sanneh foundation.

The Bridge the Gap Benefit Concert would not be possible without the effort of these local businesses who pulled together as a team of volunteers to give back to its community in its greatest time of need.
